Nome & Now Paris - A Surprising Irony

Walking down the streets of Paris one week after walking down the streets of Nome is a little strange culturally, to state the obvious.

It did not surprise me to see fur worn abundantly in Nome; this way of keeping warm has been a staple for literally hundreds of years in this region.

But I have been taken aback by the amount of fur I see at every turn in Paris, even given the fact it is unseasonably cold here for spring. And being one of the fashion capitals of the world, I guess I have slightly higher expectations on the way fur would present itself here.

I have to say, I'm veering in an unexpected direction in my vote of who is wearing it better!

  1. I've been enjoying reading your recent travel posts so much! I have to admit I even got a bit teary when your nephew finished the Iditarod and proposed.

I've never been to Paris but I have been dreaming about going to visit for a very long time. I'm definitely living vicariously through you for now.

This post is hilarious and I totally agree. I think the "Fur in Paris" looks like they killed a bunch of yetis and climbed inside.

Now I Would Love To Hear What You Think!
