I have long been an admirer of Cynthia Rowley. She completed her fashion studies from SAIC just a couple years before I did, and by the time my class took a trip to NYC to meet designers and learn more hands-on information about the industry, she had already moved there from Chicago and set up her company. Visiting her design offices, meeting her and hearing about the path to the launch of her line was exciting stuff!
I have also admired her wonderful sense of style and how she continues to look so chic and has embraced such a vibrant attitude towards life over the years. When I began publishing HOF, one of the first people on my wish list to interview was Cynthia, and I got close with her PR people, but the timing just wasn't right. So, imagine my chagrin when I saw her gracing the cover of Matchbook! Oh well, another time, another day...

And while I love her sense of glamour and style, even more I admire her involvement with her family, the arts and pictures I see of her like this. A woman that inspires to be sure!

Janell, I have to tell ya a secret...you are one of those inspiring women too! ;)
oh wow - i just watched a tour of her house on TV this morning! was thinking despite her keen fashion sense and subtle addition to Design Star - she was quite refreshing!
I was just wondering, what school is SAIC? I've never heard of it. I like Cynthia Rowley too.....
Yes, I should probably have written that out in the post. SAIC stands for The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a fantastic school that is a part of the Chicago Art Institute.
Thanks for asking, Janell
She is so amazing! Love the last picture, that is so adorable...must have been hard to do LOL
