Weekend Fun!

With the boys away at a mountain cabin for the weekend, the girls got busy doing girl stuff!
First stop, shopping.
And the stores were cooperating. Sales galore, everywhere!

After a stop at JCrew, where I landed a couple things on clearance including this navy cotton lace shell (which I immediately changed into and wore out of the store)...we were lured into Anthropologie by their enticing sidewalk sale.

I was CRAZY over this sweater, and Isabella found some fun things to try on as well.
With and without a scarf that I didn't initially think worked. But it did, as my shopping buddy knew it would.

It was hard to walk away from this darling item, with its silk floral lining,
but the one size available was just not quite right.

Then it was off to dinner, where this dressed up bug caught our eye as we waited for a table.

Afterwards, a trip to Whole Foods to pick out a treat.
That one, the cappuccino chocolate cup.

I think I got one bite...

And then it was Saturday: less fun, more work.

We both pitched in and helped my parents get a condo ready for rental. I painted, Isabella cleaned a deck and began painting it...I seriously didn't know she had it in her. She worked so hard and I was proud!

Afterwards I was beat and once home we took a long walk with the dog before closing the night with dinner and a movie at home.

Sunday: More fun on the agenda.
After actually sleeping in (wow, such a rarity) we started the day with another long walk...

...and then hit the sporting goods store for some shorts for volleyball camp this week

Lunch was next...

...and then off for some pampering.

My hands were a wreck after hours and hours of painting, and really,
what girl's weekend is complete without a manicure and pedicure?

A great weekend, I simply love time with my girl!
I'm thinking the boys need to make this cabin thing an annual occurrence.

Hi, Janell! Long time, no comment; sorry about that. But I just had to tell you how really lovely it was to hear all about your time spent with your dear Isabella. Seems like it was the perfect mix of fun, work, and relaxation. And that picture of Isabella at the sporting goods store -- she looks just like a model! Bless you.

Love, Michiganhome

A perfect weekend!
I had no boys, only one daughter, so this is pretty much how our fun weekends go and I so enjoy them.
Isabella has the hair I always longed for (and still do) but never had. It's beautiful.

That green sweater looked great on you! But you didn't think it fit?
Your daughter is adorable. Does get the pretty, curly hair from your husband?
I'm glad she's feeling better.

I love love love time with my daughter.. she, too, is my shopping buddy! We wear almost the same size...same for shoes...and it is SUCH fun to go together. My biggest fan and my biggest critic, I always say. Yes, daughters are special!

It is so nice being able to be friends with your daughter.
I also spent a weekend day with my daughter. We drove over to the Halvetia Lavender festival. We picked loads of lavender and now the whole house smells wonderful!
Aren't daughters great

Oh, that was such a fun recap. There is nothing like mother daughter time. She is rocking her blue necklace pretty well, too. {Played volleyball for many years . . . great sport! Hope she enjoys the camp}.

So disappointed the green cardi didn't work: looked like a winner to me.
And was that cup actually made of chocolate? Bliss!

Looks like a perfect weekend in my book.... hanging out with one of my girls.... shopping, lunching and tackling projects together. I snatched up that JCrew tank earlier this week too! :)

My most favorite times are alone time with my daughter and when dad is away traveling I always take advantage of it we spent this weekend seeing the new Katy Perry movie, buying vball shorts (we had vball camp too) and out for coffee afterwards, which always seems like the time she talks to me the most (besides car trips to school). The more I enjoy hanging out with her the faster time seems to speed by! I loved your weekly recap, it's alway nice and fun to see what other people do!!!

Ha, ha, you know of course there is a story behind that. One, I woke up grumpy and didn't feel like painting and cleaning all day long, so I thought something cute would cheer me up and it did! That along with my parents gratitude and painting alongside my Dad, telling stories of his summers as a boy. Plus, can you believe I threw out all my shorts at the end of last summer? I have yet to restock, have you seen the styles out there?!?!?!

You know, there is a picture of you on FB (as a teen I think) and Isabella looks just like you except or the blonde hair! And how fun is it to have someone to go shopping with? If I even say that we are going to the mall, my boys are looking crazy!
