Movies With That Special British Flair

With the Olympics being hosted in London this summer, I got busy selecting some of my favorite British movies to preview for the current issue of House of Fifty.

Remember this post?

Downloading a movie to the iPad is great way to catch a film at the end of a long day,
to relax, unwind and wow...still manage to get some work done! Now that, in my book, is brilliant.

I'll let you in on one of the favorites I reviewed for the article:

‘An Education’ – 2009

I thoroughly enjoyed this coming of age tale set in 1960’s London. A captivating movie which provides a glimpse into the life of Jenny, a suburban teen who has reached a pivotal phase of a young woman’s life. At 16 and in a terrible hurry to grow up, she ignores the cautionary tales of the characters filling the pages of her favorite literary novels. As the story unfolds you are taken in, along with Jenny, not clearly seeing the truth until it is nearly too late. With Carey Mulligan and Peter Sarsgaard, Directed by Lone Scherfig.

To see the rest of the list, read here, beginning on page 138

Now go and enjoy a movie tonight!

I happen to loveeee that movie!!! I rented it on a total whim on my computer itunes account while in Europe last summer, and completely fell in love.. I've watched it many times since then. There's something about the feel of it... I can't quite describe, but I think it's a great one.
