Today is another shout out to a product I have gotten fantastic results from while working on a wide range of projects in my own home. How fun to have another advertiser at HOF whose product I just can't say enough great things about!
Drum roll please...Rub 'n Buff.
Serious magic packed into the tiniest little tube that will last you forever...well, not quite. But a long time.
Simply apply with a finger or small brush to add a beautiful wax metallic finish to nearly anything.

The golden tone on the hardware looks so much fresher and updated against the cream I choose when repainting this console which sits in my dining room.
And this project truly caught my eye, using Rub 'n Buff to stencil a pattern in an entry. Fantastic!

...to rich with a matte finish, updating a lamp found at a resale shop.
Andrea from Oak Ridge Revival did this project, opening my eyes to the potential of applying the product to a larger surface than I had envisioned in the past.
I also put this product to work when pulling my powder bath redo together on a budget. Updating an old mirror I had on hand with a layer of Rub 'n Buff let me achieve a high end look for mere pennies.
In the same project I went cheap on my light fixture purchase. When it arrived sporting a finish that was not at all what I expected from the online pictures of the item, I didn't fret. Instead a quick wipe down of Rub 'n Buff, along with painting the candle sleeves, provided the look I thought I was getting in the first place.
I'm a particular fan of Antique Gold, but the product comes in a wide range of delicious colors.

LOVE RnB! I have used it a few times in my house. A mirror, frame, some drawer pulls, and even door hinges. The stencil idea is fabulous!
It's scary how far this stuff goes. I used it on a couple of dresser handles to test it's ability. I'm game to using it on bigger items like an old mirror frame now.

Love RnB, and have used it often. I have never seen the full line of colors before though! Ooooohhhh!
I used it on my front gate...took forever but was worth it. I have to go check out that stencil, what a grand idea!
I think I might have mentioned this before, but I have been using this for 10 years...it is a fantastic product and every project you showcased makes it's point!!!
LOL when I saw this title, i KNEW it would be Rub N Buff - you are the queen of it! ive tried it a few times and cant get it to go on how I want. i dont know if i just dont get it or am not doing it right. but its definitely worked magic on a few things for me. for larger surfaced, i should figure it out first :)

I've had a couple people write me other that last month about applying it to larger surfaces, they haven't been able to make it stick. A light sanding might help, if the surface is completely sooth, to give it some tooth without removing original finish too much.
Also, I've found occasionally I get a tube that has a lot of oil when I first open it. I put the cap back on and try to "massage" the tube to mix up the ingredients. Having the product well mixed seems to be important in having it work to its best potential. Never had a single problem with the end result on a project, truly love this stuff!!

I just tried it for the first time and am in love with it! So easy to use, a little goes a long way and the end result is so pretty. I used it on some hardware on a desk I just painted. I originally read about Rub 'n Buff on your blog Janell. Have a lovely long weekend.
I used Rub n Buff when I had a frame shop, now I love it for all things house related; most recently updating door hinges to match new knobs without having to take down every door in the house!
Yes, I got rub n buff years ago to touch up an antique gold frame, it is pretty cool stuff and easy to use, love it.

Ordered some Rub n Buff from Amazon after seeing this post. It's amazing, just like you promised :) Thanks so much for sharing this gem!! I've already transformed a mirror frame from black to gold, a vintage ice bucket stand (needed to look a little less 'shiny gold' and some antlers. The gold antlers are probably my fav..and antique gold is the perfect color. Cheers! - K
