Designer Crush, And This One Is Serious

Today I just have to share a designer crush, and I've had this one for awhile. So it's serious.
Jessica Helgerson, a local designer in the town I live in, Portland.

This particular project calls out to me, especially at this time of year. With the arrival of spring, summer plans are in the making. Will we go to the beach, the mountains, what camps will the kids go to? This cabin just screams lazy days of summer with family and friends!

A green roof.

Rustic simplicity that remains chic. Notice the one simple pull on the closet?

Open windows and doors, everyone coming in and out. Fresh fruit and vegetables.
What deliciousness will we cook up for tonight's feast?

I could do an entire week of posts on Jessica's projects, so I'm not sharing them all here today.
But see for yourself if you wish.

So much character! It looks like the perfect way to getaway! I would love to have a little place in MI that had that feel.

Loving your crush! I wish you would do an entire week of her work! I just love a clean modern white cottage design. We are renovating & in the end I'm hoping to pull off similar looks. But for now, that part is months away so I'm soaking up all the inspiration I can now. Carrie

She is fantastic. Those rainbow chairs outside are pretty darn dreamy. I just love spaces with open doors and windows. Fun to see.

Jessica is my favourite designer of all time. I love that all of her projects are real, down to earth and not the huge mansion/glamorous yet often unrealistic designs that are featured in magazines.

What is even more impressive is that this tiny house isn't just a weekend cottage - this is where Jessica and her family have LIVED for the past several years. Truly forward thinking in a world of stuff, stuff and materialism. Grass roots living at its finest.
