Hello 2012!

It's a new year! On the decorating front I don't have any huge plans. But when I grow up this is what my house will look like: classic architecture with a mix of old and new furniture, and a lot of happy color thrown in.

On the fashion front, it was a good a start to the year. In a bit of fashion anxiety while dressing for a party I opened a drawer to see a long forgotten lace skirt, looking amazingly current{this has to be at least 20 years old!} Hey, that would work, but does it fit? I never hang on to clothes...glad I made an exception.

And on the House of Fifty front, we are busy wrapping up the fourth issue, to be released at the end of the month. It is shaping up to be what I hope will be the best issue yet! This has been a venture that continues to grow and one that I thoroughly enjoy working on. After years of working in solitary fashion on design projects, writing assignments and this blog I can't begin to tell you how rewarding it is to work as a team! Thank you everyone who has worked with me on House of Fifty to date, you're the best.

Here's to a fabulous 2012!

You look stunning, being a lover of lace, I am loving your outfit! Funny thing...I "found" about a 20 plus year old lace top the other day, its soo beautiful, and I was so excited BUT it was a size 4, boo hoo. It has however furthered my resolve to lose some weight, not sure if I will ever fit into it now it almost looks like a barbie top..lol but it reminded me of how thin I was at one time, and it made me kind of mad but also gave me some much needed inspiration. You look red hot!!
Love the room too...a perfect mix of old and new. Heres to all great things in 2012!

You look amazing Janell! You should write how you keep yourself looking not a day older than 29!

Love your grown up room, perfect direction for you. You look amazing in your lace skirt, glad you kept it. Always keep a classic!! They also say never to throw away belts or scarves. I don't know if I agree with that, because there is no way my belts would still fit, but I think my neck is the same size, lol!! happy New Year , looking forward to the new Issue of House of Fifty, xo Kathysue

That space looks beautiful and fresh, thanks to the yellow curtains and the blue table lamp.

If you didn't tell me, I wouldn't have guessed that your lacy skirt is 20 years old. It's a pretty skirt and you look absolutely gorgeous in it!

Looking forward to read the latest issue of House Of Fifty!
