First (and only?) Snow Of The Year

Not much got accomplished around our house this weekend, but we did enjoy a rare (and very light) snowfall early Sunday morning, getting out to make the most of it!

Max's biggest goal for the year, beginning last fall, was to wear shorts for 365 days in a row. For months he's been hoping it would snow and he'd get the badge of honor of wearing shorts even on that day. Well, his dream came true!

Have you gotten a snowfall that makes this look nearly like a spring day?!

  1. Ah, this time last year, we were completely snowed in here in Atlanta! I have to say, I loved it-- that down time, easy time, break in the routine where we just enjoyed the quiet and the beauty. Only flurries so far this year, but I'm still hoping for one good snowfall!
Max is a hoot! My teenage boys can relate. :)

  2. Max's goal cracks me up. See...that's the difference between men & women. To women, when it's cold out, that means we CAN wear pants & not shave our legs.
And it finally snowed in Chicago. We got about 4" & it has turned very cold.

  3. What nice pictures! Light, delicate snowfalls are quite lovely. In Berlin here we have not had any real snow. On one hand I am happy about that, on the other I sort of miss it. I'm originally from Canada, where we get lots of snow in the winter ;)

  6. Janell: Oh gosh! I feel like Alaska must get so much more snow than Montreal (where I'm from). Although, I do remember one winter, walking down the sidewalk and the piles of snow on either side of the walkway created by the snow ploughs were as tall as me! It was like walking in a sort of snow tunnel. That was the most extreme I've ever experienced.

I'm sort of between Berlin and Frankfurt these days, but if you are ever around feel free to send me a message ;) Berlin is especially awesome!

  7. We had flurries off and on for three days, Janell! Mostly just the bushes and grass are covered now. I'm happy enough with that; it looks pretty but doesn't affect me going out!

  21. Well Max wouldn't be setting any records if he lived her in San Diego, shorts are worn year round. I noticed him in shorts the first shot of him with his dad and thought "that boy is wearing shorts in the snow?" and then you told the story. How cute! Off to read the new issue, so excited. Love your new adventure, your doing a great job with your new magazine.
