Not much happens. I spend the day on the couch & I get away with not having to make dinner.
I'm lucky I don't have kids to take care of.
Feel better soon!

Moms are the engine that make it run, simple as that! Sorry to hear you are not feeling well and hope you get better soon.

It is the same for me... except my kids don't leave for school {4 & 2}. I will say I have a great husband... but the kids always want Mommy!

Moms can definitely get sick - and should take care of themselves when they do! Let someone else pack the lunches and go back to bed!

I cant remember my mom ever laying in bed sick until we got older. She was always pushing through. Its mom ambition I guess! Super MOMS!

Moms definitely don't get sick days, but when I'm at my worst, I have to say my family pitches in. My girls watch a lot of tv, do their best not to argue and my husband brings home dinner.

Nothing else gets done, but thank goodness it doesn't happen very often. I also think they get a little glimpse at what all I manage to do for them each day.

Take care and feel better!

What? Moms get sick? Who knew! LOL.....they make it challenging for sure....but somehow we seem to get it done. I think its particularly hard when the kids are really young, thats when you must enlist the help of family or friends. Thankfully as they get older they become more self sufficient, but its when mom gets sick that the entire family realizes how we are the nuts and bolts behind the operation. Last time I was sick, the simplest things became hurculean tasks for my kids (and my husband) but they rose to the challenge and surprise surprise they did what they had to do!
Feel better soon!

Mother does not get sick days but less gets done at home if work is a priority. My girls help with dinner prep, dishwasher, and so on. It's early to bed if I am lucky! Hope you feel better soon.

*** Oh, DRAT! I feel badly that YOU feel badly, Nellie!!!

Why not play like a man, and lay in bed all day and let everyone wait on Y*O*U for once??? (Insert big smile here!!!)~

Just got up (6:30), and read YESTERDAY'S blog... got a great chuckle out of it!!! It made me start the day with a laugh, so, THANK YOU, sweet pal...

Pleeease... D*O "GET WELL SOON"!!! (And don't forget, CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM and laying in bed eating it, and watching a great ol' CHICK FLICK (dog on bed/lap a must, of course!)is ALWAYS "good for what ails ya"!!!

I can't believe you still managed to publish a short blog post... rest up... I'm not a Mom, but I do believe in the theory of "adjust your own oxygen mask first". ;)

Mom don't get sick days, that's right. When I am sick, I still need to take care of my young son and make sure he has his meals fixed, feed him, get him ready to go to school, etc. During my sick days, I don't have to prepare dinners because my husband will get takeaways. I do less but I don't lie down on the bed all day! :)

I hope you feel better soon. Wishing you a swift recovery. Take care, Janell.

Unfortunately I am expendable - my husband takes over. He packs lunches everyday anyway (mine included) and he is also a great cook and cleaner. So I get to lie in bed - he checks on me every once in a while to see if I need anything. What a great guy! The down side? I rarely get sick.

No sick days for the great Moms! I was just joking about this with my husband who was sick a couple weeks ago and layed in bed all day. I was like I wish i could do that when I got sick! I hope you feel better soon!

Moms are not allowed to get sick right? Everything seems to fall apart, but hopefully your family has a nurturing spirit to show you some tender loving care! Get some rest friend, be well, and take care of yourself!

So sorry to hear that you are sick! Hopefully, you'll get some time to rest and recover. It's hard when mama is down for the count - hopefully your hubby can step in and take over for a while. :)

If I'm really really sick I basically get 24 hours to be in bed because the place falls apart. If I'm only a little sick I keep going just like you. Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry you're feeling ill today. When I get sick, we have EMFH for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. EMFH...Every Man For Himself. My kids eat a lot of cereal on those days, which are thankfully few.

New follower who is so happy to have found your blog. Happy Wednesday! :o) Feel better soon.

Lol. Does any mom have a different answer? We don't really ever get sick, we just have a few slower and snifflier days than normal. :)

Being sick just means that I get to work from home instead of the office. The kiddo does still go to school, and I can lay around in PJs with a nice warm laptop on my lap. So there are perks.

Nancy said...

When they get old enough it means that mom goes to bed and the kids do more than you think they're capable of!

I just experienced this and it wasn't fun. I was under the weather with a 4 year old and a 2 year old. My husband had to go to his meeting. He came back, put the kids to bed and fell asleep with them. Didn't remember that I may need some broth, a glass of water, etc! I was livid. I hate being sick because you realize just how much you do and how little it gets noticed!

Honestly, the carry on posters have gone a bit far. The original rhymed (Calm & On), and was cute. I've seen some other cute ones as well. Sorry so serious, lol.

Now about sick moms. Oh my, a mother's job never ends. I am lucky to have a very understanding and helpful husband. And my sweet 5-year old can be very comforting when I am sick. Still, the mom duties must be fulfilled, and it is mom who usually gets the job done... sick or not.

One more thing... Hope you feel better soon! :)
