Lighting Happiness!

It only required several steps.

From removing the black spray paint....

...to adding bobeches...

...bulbs, crystals and new chain.

And hiring help, I (almost) never hire help, to move the box and hang the new fixture.

(Why the dishes & such, you ask? Getting ready to entertain & feeling too lazy to move it all for pictures!)

But finally, this "fixture redesign" is done!

Before

And...Happily Ever After!

Wow, what a fantastic transformation! I am in the process of fixing up an old chandelier for our dining room. Not loving the way it's turning out though. Especially now that I've seen yours!

Is it down? For now, except...once I saw the fixture up I saw how nice drapes would be at the tall window! And would love a large rug under the table, but that is something I'll just have to wait until I spot the perfect option, one of these days! Janell

Art isn't in the doing, but in knowing what to do. Your vision, not only for the chandelier, but for the whole space is what has made it so successful. I know you're not finished in real like, but in your head you know what finished looks like. Just follow the vision.
Beautiful!

Janell, it is all really beautiful. I have been following along on this whole process, from choosing the table and re staining it to the challenges with the bench and light fixture. Your persistence really paid off! I am sure you will enjoy for years to come. It is spectacular!

Janell @ Isabella and Max said...

Carrie,
The runner was made from Garden Envy, a jacquard from Calico Corners. I love how wide it is, here is the link to the tutorial:

I was also honored to have Calico Corners run this tutorial in their latest newsletter! Thanks CC!

Your dining room is so gorgeous, Now if I take a look at my formal dining room where I'm sitting right now it looks SAD! :)
Not to mention one day hubby came home and bought the whole furniture fr. Haverty's w/out me. ;(
Can get enough of the chandelier, ours was the original one since we bought the house, can't wait to take them down so grandma-ish. ;(

Thanks!! I am definitely thinking there might be drapes at some point, but for now I'm good! That is so gorgeous I can't even stand it!!! I just had electrician take my old brass chandy that I painted black down....no way I'm going to strip it, but thought I'd try another color before buying a new one.

But now I know I need a new, simpler one. Just gorgeous, Janell! And I want to come to YOUR garage sale...anything you're selling, I want!!!
