The photography is wonderful and makes for great eye candy. I love all the Portland references! Congratulations to you, I know what a difficult process it is to produce something of such quality.

Kudos Janell - I truly am delighted with the premier issue of House Of Fifty. Loved every page and will go back again and again. What I love most about it - is that it is not too chic or too high end. Just the perfect mix.

I also think that who/what ever turned you down last year-was a godsend for you - as House of Fifty looks like it is going to be a great success and you will be doing what your love and in your own style. Nothing can beat that!

Awesome job Janell! The layout is beautiful, content engaging and easy to read. By far my favorite piece is "Can't we all just get along?". It's amazing how often people judge creative expression in decor etc. instead of looking for new and innovative ideas out of our own comfort zones.
Congratulations!!

I wasn't home yesterday so I missed your premiere issue. But I have spent some quality time reading it this morning. I have to say...you did not disappoint. I loved every page! Your group of contributors are amazing. It's too bad our culture is so wrapped up in our youth. This just goes to show what we have to offer.
Congratulations, Janell! I'm soooo proud of you!

Great job, I like the "books on shelves" feature, and the fact that this e-zine isn't only for the "hipster" crowd, but for those of us with children in their "formative years". I feel that I am not cool enough or may be too old to relate to the "party vibe" of some of the other e-zines. Thank you for making me feel relevant!

Janell,
The magazine is fabulous! Love that it has a totally different look and feel than the other e-zines out there. Can't wait for the fall issue. Someone once told me you can't wait for opportunities to come to you, you have to make them happen for yourself. Well you certainly have. There are no limit other than what we set for ourselves. All the best to you.

Hi Janell
Just popped over from A-M who paid tribute to your new e-zine on her blog this morning. I can't believe it has taken me this long to find your fabulous blog! Congratulations on the magazine - I absolutely love it. It really does have a different look and feel to many of the other e-zines I have seen. I think the reason for this is that it is authentic. The projects/ideas/recipes/fashion/lifestyle tips are all totally achieveable by everyday people with everyday budgets and abilities. They are not pie in the sky. This is what makes it so special. I'm sure I will be spending many happy hours reading and re-reading the articles in issue 1. It is set to become my absolute favourite source of online inspiration. Thank you so much! Best wishes ;)Sharyne

I just figured out what you told me on Lakeitha's blog about clicking on the magazine to make the print larger. I thought you meant to get it to "full screen" but I see now that if you click it again, it gets even bigger. Duh!

Nancy, Don't feel bad, I can't even begin to tell you how long it took me to figure this out as well!! And I was behind this project! :)
