The Benefits Of Fresh Flowers...Who Knew!

Did you read the article on the benefits of fresh flowers, written by Wendy of the Shabby Nest, in House of Fifty?

Not only do flowers instantly make a room more beautiful, but studies have shown they also increase feelings of well being and decrease anxiety.

  1. I totally agree & have been doing just that. My favorite lately have been a mixture of pink tulips & snapdragons. Love the way they make a room feel.

  5. I always pick up a bunch of fresh flowers when I'm out. It's such an inexpensive way to brighten the mood. I hope to have some time this weekend to browse House of Fifty... I didn't want to rush it. Congrats on your new venture. xo

  7. I agree that flowers automatically lift up your spirits and bring a smile to your face, I know I do. But I need to find my vase first, I have a few and they were still missing since our move last year! :)

    Have a wonderful weekend, Janell!

  8. *** G' Saturday morning, Janell! Those look sooooooo "perrrty"!!!

While living off n' on in Europe for 18 years, I got "DELIGHTFULLY SPOILED" going "to market" weekly w/ different girlfriends (on RARE occassions, I could get my hubby to join me, which was a treat, too!). We ALWAYS had such F*U*N, stopping at the always-delightful outdoor cafes for coffee (OK, and "SOMETIMES" something sweet to eat!) & coming home with ARMLOADS of WONDERFUL FLOWERS! What F*U*N!!!

Since then we ALWAYS have fresh flowers in our house, & I wouldn't have it any other way... and can't IMAGINE N*O*T havng them in the house! Besides a beautiful touch, they ALSO just remind me so much of those terriffic times!!!

MY personal fave is WHITE TULIPS~~~

    Sending warm hugs to all,
    Linda *

  9. I did just that yesterday! I love having fresh flowers around the house. They certainly do brighten the room and my spirits! The perfect pick me up. I think Trader Joes has become my new "florist". That was a great article by Wendy!

  11. I have always said, if I could splurge on one thing it would be fresh flowers. I would choose them over having someone clean my house or even cook for me. Flowers bring such beauty and life to a space.

  13. interesting how the effects of nature influence are mental and emotional states...and no harm in sending your kids outside to play...they derive the the same benefits from being "out in nature" as well, even if they're just playing out in the yard.....

LOL......I love fresh flowers and beleive everyone should have them, even if its just a little tiny bouquet from the local fruit market or supermarket, they really do lift your spirits in addition to adding a little something to a room!
