A Hotel Room I Could Move Right Into & Be Quite Happy!

I'm back! And can I begin by asking, is there anything better than being treated well? It's a long story, but after enjoying the first part of our visit at a resort in the Hill Country of Texas in a very nice, but yes...regular...room, the hotel staff decided it was time to pull out all the stops to ensure the remainder of our stay got even better.

Seriously, I've stayed in some nice rooms, but I didn't know they came as nice as this.

The living room.

The dining room, along with a very nice bottle of complimentary wine. Please enjoy yourself, Ms. Beals.

Looking way down the length of the space to the door of the kid's room...

...and from their room all the way back down to our room.

The master, complete with fireplace. There were two.

The dressing room...

...with lovely built-ins. Yes, I could move right in and stay for an extended while quite easily, I do believe.

The master bath, one of three bathrooms. I think they all got used.

And did I mention it had an office? Just in case I had remembered to bring my computer.

Even though this room is obviously designed for a man, I loved its cozy feel.

Then through the far middle door off the dining room was a simple kitchen.

It could certainly do for awhile, I've had much worse.

But have my kids? My husband and I want to be our kids...what a life.

A late night game of cards, hurry up with that snack Isabella!

And finally another day of beautiful views...

...fun in the water...

...and a rare moment of simply nothing.

Now it's time to get back to reality, luckily it is a good place to be as well!

But seriously, can you believe that room? I'm now spoiled for life, will any accommodations ever be able to compare? Probably not...

Hi Janell, I was just catching up reading some back posts. You are seriously talented, my friend, but of course I've told you that before :). I am looking forward to seeing what you do with the bench, and to House of Fifty. What an inspiration that is, your putting that together. We are the same age, and I love watching what you do. Good luck with the final details on that!

That room looks more like someone's gorgeous home than a hotel room. Good for you that you got to enjoy that. Thanks for your sweet comment this morning.

It looks more like someones amazing penthouse than a hotel room! WOW...amazing indeed. I too have been lucky enough to stay in some amazing places but this takes the cake, the limestone mantle in the master!! I have to go check out the website and look into how I can get there! I love blogland because I am always finding something out new and exciting!! Thanks...glad you had fun (and I soooo agree and laughed about your statement, you want to be your kids, I say that all the time)

Room??! THAT was an entire house. Did it cost as much as a mortgage payment??

Linda, oh, yes, I did see the room rate. I was shocked...and enjoyed having the room even more knowing we didn't have to pay for it! Janell

Janell, What a lovely place! I am from Texas but have never stayed in Hill Country for more than a day... Would love to take my family there sometime! Would you mind emailing name of hotel? Won't be staying in the same room as your cute fam ended up in... but the hotel staff sure sounds nice - and that counts for a lot! Thanks! (ps - hope you truly enjoyed it - I LOVE Texas;)

Nikki, it is the JW Marriott outside of San Antonio. The staff is great, AND we had a great time, both when staying in a nice small room and the elegant room. In fact, in the big room I had to keep saying to everyone, let's hang out together, let's watch a movie together. Didn't have that issue in the small room! :)

And Mary, I hear you, I actually took my puffer coat on the plane so I'd be ready to throw it on once back in cool Oregon!

Oh Janell, that room will be a hard one to compare too. It looks as if you all had a wonderful relaxing time. I think we all need to get away and enjoy somewhere else, but it is always so good to get back home with a new energy. When I go on a trip I always want to come home and work in the yard and add more flowers,it never fails. Glad you had such a nice time, but glad you are back to blogging. We missed you,

Looks like your family had a great time in the good old Texas.

My hubby's from Forthood Tx. north of Austin but never been to a place like this well, we often end up staying at my Mother in Law.

What can I say everything is BIG Texas.

Thank's for sharing and welcome back!!!

Whenever we're on vacation and in a condo/timeshare, we say we could just stay and live in a condo for life. It has just what we need adn nothing more! I keep trying to empty our house to feel more like a hotel! Glad you had a great time!

Was that "fun in the water" at the hotel? Or was that at sea world? Or some other San Antonio fun place?

Fun in the water was at the hotel...they have a great "lazy river" and some water slides. It has fast become a favorite place of ours to chill! Yeah for Marriott I say!

I knew as soon as I saw the pool that it was the JW Marriott! I live in SA and this is my favorite place to crash! For anyone who lives around here, you can have access to the spa for $30 a day and they have their own spa pool (away from the fun and kids at the guest pool).

I've only stayed in a "normal" room so I am gonna have to see who I need to talk to about staying in THAT crazy suite!! Wow! Thanks for posting the photos, what a lucky break for you guys!!
