Embracing The Color Green!

It's St. Patrick's Day and  I couldn't resist this opportunity to highlight a few fabulous rooms embracing the color green!

Green Room traditional bathroom

A brilliant green makes this room sing, beautifully! I love the small repeat of the color on the rug.

Bold dramatic statements eclectic family room

Wouldn't you love to be brave enough to pull a room like this together? Mint green walls and chartreuse accents are paired with vibrant Kelly green foliage. Dramatic, particularly when that foliage includes one very large palm leaf.

Living Room modern living room

Green accents paired with it's complimentary color red, in an otherwise fairly neutral room, adds up to happy. Note: if you want to successful apply these colors in your room stay away from shades typically used for holiday decor, or the end result won't be quite what you were hoping for...

No my favorite color to use when decorating my home... but I could absolutely find a place for that amazing green lamp! Wow:) Happy St.Patty's Day!

Years ago I decided I wanted our spare room/office a bright happy green. After the first coat I left the room & I could see this sickly green glow coming into the hallway. Before the day was over I repainted it beige.
Thank goodness I've gotten better at picking paint colors.

We had a silvery green wall color in the living room in our last home. I loved spending time in that room.

There will always be some shade of green that is popular. It just works with so many things. I love the second image, although I really think the wall color is too cool for the other green accents in the room, but hey, that's what's fun about design. The palm frond is a fav for sure!
Happy St. Paddy's day, Janell!

I love green...tend to go for the softer shades for my own home but totally appreciate a bright or dark green in the right space..its all about balance and getting it right.

Both our master bedroom and our main living room are green. It took a few attempts at getting the correct "green apple" color for the living room and "Irish field" for the bedroom (thank you, Martha Stewart), but it's a wonderful color in our home - we have lots of dark wood trim, so the green pops out, but it calming at the same time! YAY FOR GREEN!

My school uniform was green so it's taken me a while to get over the tauma of it!! But I'm slowly coming round to loving green again. It's so pretty and fresh.

jmm, send me an email and I'll share the resource of the table. I made it a policy not to talk about the resource as I complained about aspects of the piece, but sharing with anyone who wants to send me an email. Thanks!! Janell

I never thought I'd be a green convert, but I am! I recently transformed a thrifted sideboard by painting it a fresh grass green and couldn't be happier! Check it out:

I have been a huge fan of green for years. I decided that I would try something new and decorate with blues and greys instead but I can't seem to break that green addiction

I don't use a lot of green in my own home, but I certainly appreciate a pop of green in the right spaces. These are lovely. xo

So funny - very wise advice to stay away from 'holiday' color combos!
