While I Wait For Spring, I'm Working On Christmas

If you think you're confused, can you imagine how I'm feeling?!

A group of holiday DIY projects for HGTV are nearing completion, just in time to make the March 1st deadline.

How happy was I to see the first snowfall of the year on Thursday...just in the nick of time to get this photo!

If I forget to show these projects in more detail once the holidays roll around again, (in a mere eight months) please remind me...

In the meantime, check out my other articles written for HGTV.com here or on the sidebar of this blog.

Is anyone else happy it's Friday?!

I'm ecstatic it's Friday, Janell! Even if it is raining here. I love the look of the candles in the hurricanes.

I love Christmas so much you can blog about it in July! The Gold leafed candle sticks is a great idea. May have to try that this year! And I really like the pinecone wreath too!

I hope you aren't one of those people that still has their Christmas lights up on their house.

You have an "in" with mother nature;) I can't even imagine being that organized Christmas 2011 .

lizzie...there is no way I would be this organized if I wasn't being paid! It has been very interesting (and a little challenging) working on holiday projects as that holidays passes! Janell

You are worse than the stores who can't wait to start showing us their Christmas wares in Sept! LOL....I have to admit though I am happy to say goodbye to winter, I do love more than anything decorating the house for Christmas, the evergreen, tartan plaid ribbon, paperwhites and white amaryllis in big pots, all my nutcrackers..oh it is a beautiful holiday and the pictures above do it justice!

When I saw that first picture, I thought, how did she do that? The snow looks so real! Then I read that it was your *timely* first snowfall of the year! You DO have an in with Mother Nature, LOL. Congrats on all your HGTV projects, Janell.

What is lovely yellow and white piece of brightness in the form of furniture I spy in the last photo?? Is it new?

I hope you were being well paid because I can only imagine how difficult it would be to get excited about Christmas in February. You totally lucked out with the weather though.

That would be so hard for me but you pulled it off flawlessly!! They all look like great ideas...gives us something to look forward to!

Yes, I couldn't believe my luck with the snow. When I heard there might be snow coming I placed all the materials by the front door the night before, just in case. When I got up and saw snow I quickly set up and took the photos, then woke up the kids and were we out enjoying the snow by 6:30. A.M. don't know if the neighbors approved!!

ESE...no, nothing new, just moving things around!!

I'm used to photo shoots super early for the holidays. My husband worked at companies that had Christmas photo shoots 9 months in advanced.

The pictures are gorgeous, especially the tea lights in the snow. My friend, originally from Connecticut, thinks our Christmas lights look funny without snow. I'm a native Californian so I'm used to it.

I am!! That must be a weird feeling pulling Christmas back out, but I can't wait to see what you do. Happy weekend :)

Love the pictures and can't wait to see everything!

Do you mean we're going to have to wait for 10 months to see the whole thing?!! I'm sure you'll make it worth the wait.
