Wait & See

Hum...liking the look after applying a bit of furniture wax!

Walking away, waiting to see how it dries...but you can hardly go wrong on a table that is meant to look like its had a long life already.

Now I'm off to pick up a few supplies for a new DIY tutorial...more on that later this week.

Happy Monday!

It looks amazing with the wax. The gray-brown is such a nice change from the usual dining table.

I have an old barn board top table in my kitchen that I waxed also. I found it looked great but evertime it had something hot on it or it got wet, it left huge white rings that were very difficult to remove. I have now oiled it (I used the Ikea oil meant for wooden butcher block counters which is mineral oil I believe, and it is much better. No more worries about rings from glasses etc.

I love this table and what you are doing with it. Would you mind sharing what online store you bought it from? I love online shopping and I'm always on the hunt for new stores.

Great tip about the oil, another reader mentioned that as well on my previous post. So...lots of options! Thanks! Janell

Love that greyed, washed look! Am thinking I am going to have to go that route with a few of my darker wood pieces.

This is wonderful! I have a cousin that specializes in the "shabby chic" decor, and I can totally see this going in her house! I love it, as well. You would definitely have to have it on the right carpet or hardwood floors in order for it to look right, though.
