Rooms I'd Like To See Wrapped Up As Gifts For The Holidays!

I had a lot of fun writing this week's Ideabook for Houzz, selecting a group of rooms I would wish to find wrapped up as gifts...if that were possible!

What is at the top of the wish list? It's too hard to pick just one, so let me choose two: A large mudroom and a large, cheerful laundry room.

Craftsman Green Renovation contemporary entry
ZeroEnergy Design

A mudroom would help getting out of the house to the bus stop in the mornings a lot less hectic!

new project contemporary laundry room
Tineke Triggs

With laundry constantly piling up, this laundry room would help make this chore, well...less of a chore!

To see all my wish list rooms click to read the entire Ideabook book here. If you could wish for a room, what would be on your list?

We gained a mudroom when we moved our laundry in the basement last year (with our basemenet renovation). While many suggested the laundry room in the basement would be a hassle it's really worked for us - I do laundry while the kids play & we're together. The gain of a mudroom has really helped especially now with winter here... keeps dirt & the mess hidden! Happy Holidays Janell!

I would like to get a new kitchen left under my Christmas tree.
Four years ago we did a mini reno with a new countertop, tile flooring, and a tile backsplash.
But now I'm regretting all the color choices I've made. (Blogs have made me wiser)
My husband agreed to let me have hardwoods put in the main living areas & the kitchen in the spring but I can't get a new counter or backsplash. I'm hoping when I paint the cabinets white I won't mind so much.
Merry Christmas to you & your family!

I was just thinking this very same thing yesterday. My laundry room/mudroom needs a facelift. Putting it on the list for 2011. Happy Holidays!

My wishlist would include a ME space. A place to cuddle up and read a book- w/o a TV and dare I say? a computer!

The remainder of my wish list which is really more realistic--would be FINISHED ROOMS!

I love the green laundry room. I wish someone could wrap it up and give it to me too.

You and are think a lot alike :)
I have been gathering pictures of mudrooms for a few months now. The playroom/sew room/junk room/craft room will soon be something I can enjoy hopefully soon!!!
Merry Christmas to you, I am so fortunate to have run accross your blog when you first started. You are a huge inspiration to me and I'm so proud to call you my friend!
Lots of love

I think a mud room in my house would just give my family the excuse to just dump-it-and-leave-it! But that laundry space is perfect! Merry Christmas friend...so thrilled to get to know you this year and look forward to mire friendship and inspiration in 2011!

I would love to have a craft room. I have plans for how I would organize and decorate it so maybe one day soon! Merry Christmas to you and your family, Janell. I am glad to have met you this year. You are a true inspiration and a lovely person.

I would absolutely adore a fun playroom for my daughter! One that the entire family would love to spend time in. It would have lots of room for toys and crafts and reading! I wish Santa could have fit that in his sleigh. Merry Christmas!!

I feel like I've had "Home Improvement ADD" for a while. I seem to have all sorts of projects around the house all in progress at the same time. I'm almost pleased with the kitchen we've created, but I need new barstools...SIX of them! I absolutely love yours...WHERE did you find them? Santa didn't find any for me either--and it was on the list! Thanks for all your great ideas and insight!
