Master Bedroom Redesign - Complete!

I am thrilled to have crossed the finish line on the Master Bedroom Redesign! Just in time for the Holidays, I say this qualifies as one very nice present.

There was certainly no shortage of DIY projects that went into the design of this bedroom. In fact, virtually everything in the room is a result of a do it yourself project. I suppose this is why the room took as long as it did to complete!

DIY Duvet, Cutting Is The Hardest Part

Sew A Cozy DIY Throw ~ A Wonderful Gift Idea

Stenciled DIY Coasters ~ Wrap Four With Ribbon For Hostess Gifts

DIY Art Using A Canvas & Nail Head Trim

While the bedroom and adjoining bath have distinct design personalities, a goal of the redesign was to create a cohesive look between the two rooms. Here the painted canvas and bronze nail head trim introduce the bathroom wall color and fixture finish into the bedroom design.

I love the light streaming in from the windows, on a rare sunny Winter day.

Pillows & More Pillows

Bringing In A Directoire Style Table From Target

Then, the project that inspired the redesign:
Building An Upholstered Headboard Wall

The Sofia Settee, A Popular Lounging Spot {Kids & Dog}

Creating & Hanging An Art Wall

What is a favorite feature of the redesign? Seeing the headboard wall reflected in the mirror as I stand at the bathroom sink!

A Favorite Old Find: Vintage Pagoda Chandelier

DIY Architectural Letters For The Art Wall

Finally, Finding A Little Bird

Sweet Dreams...

Janell, it's beautiful and to think that evey bit of this was practically a DIY is even more amazing! Congrats!

Janell @ Isabella and Max said...

Mary...a step ladder! This room is small, approximately 12x15 and hard to photograph. Then I discovered stepping up on a step ladder (while hanging drapes) gives me a larger view of the space.

love the view of headboard from bathroom sink If I did this at my masterbedroom it will be at exactly same view. once talked about this to my daughter. then heard her talking to my husband over the phone who's overseas right now.... she said " Daddy, Mommy is going to put a big headboard at your room.
Hubby was alarmed :) Yeah, like I really need him back home to be able to put one:)

Great job Janell!!!

The whole room is just so beautiful! And loving that most of it is the result of craft and creativity instead of buying stuff.

gorgeous- love the headboard, it's quite the statement in your room! You did such an amazing job on this space... all of the sewing you did really paid off- the bedding is to die for! Doesn't it feel SO good to finish a big project right before the Holiday madness begins?!

I just finished a 4 month kitchen renovation this week- so I have that accomplished feeling this week as well :)

Carol, of course I didn't rest after the photos...smart of you to know that! But my husband and I had a few laughs later, the bedding is really warm...he was teasing me about that! Come summer I will have to lighten things up!

This is sooo beautiful. A friend of mine once used a similar color combination with crown molding in her den and I have been in love with it ever since. Seeing it in your bedroom just solidifies that it has to go somewhere in my house at some point.

Janell @ Isabella and Max said...

The ceilings are 9 feet tall, they look taller I think. Probably due to the room being on the smaller side, (12x15) so proportionally they look high, adding to a more spacious overall feel.
