I recently spotted this absolutely delightful holiday wreath featured on the blog Room Remix. I wish I had thought up the idea to make a wreath from crayons!
Who did? Gil Mendez, a San Francisco based interior designer, who for the last five years has come up with unique Christmas Wreath designs for the annual Jingle & Mingle Designer Wreath Auction which benefits Children of Shelters.

For information on how to make a Crayola Wreath visit Nesting Newbies, where Gil talks about how he came up with the idea for this wreath design and shares details on how to make your own.
{p.s. Due to the number of comments wondering how this many red crayons were found, let me add Gil purchased them in bulk (in red) from www.allartsupplies.com! Who knew crayons, and single colors, could be purchased in bulk!}

The creativity is pretty amazing, isn't it? I still love this idea. Thanks so much for the mention and link back! Hope you have a great day...
I'm awestruck of folks that are so creative.
Oh my! I wonder how many crayon boxes you need for this one.
That's a lot of red crayons! Better have a backing or there will be red marks all over the wall. Love it though!
I'm not a wreath person, but I love this! Cute and chic at the same time, genius.
What a great idea! I think it would have been cute to add circles of different colored crayons to make it even more festive!
Totally festive and awesome!
Happy Holidays!

So cool! Looking at it, I had no idea they were crayolas!! Brilliant!
Such a cute idea! Finding that many red crayons might be a challenge though. Merry Christmas!
Oh. Em. GEE.
That's amazing!
wow - that's incredible! I wonder where you buy crayons in bulk...:)
Coolest Christmas wreath ever!! My kids would go nuts for this- especially my little girl who is nuts for colouring and the colour red:)
This is how Gil found enough crayons:
"I ordered bulk red crayons from a wholesaler. (We found single color bulk crayons on www.allartsupplies.com)"
Otherwise, yes, can you imagine the zillion boxes you'd have to dig through!

What a unique wreath. It would be something to try when you have all the time in the world to make! But the red crayon was always my favourite colour - this would be so great in a classroom, kids room or playroom!
What a great idea! I must try this!
A lot of patience went into that wreath! Cute idea!
That is so cool! Did I miss how many crayons it took to do this? Love it!

I am constantly saying "why didn't I think of that"! I am trying to imagine how many crayon boxes it took to get that many red ones. Beautiful!!
Janell, I love this for a childs room. The only thing I was thinking is they might be tempted to see if they can color on the walls with it,hehe. I think I would be tempted. Too cute! Kathysue
So cute! what a great idea! Thanks for posting >)
That wreath is so amazing. I saw it somewhere else recently and have been thinking about it since. So creative!

Wow! What a fun and clever idea! Thanks for pointing it out to us (:
Very cute...but I bet it would be really heavy.
That is one clever and fun wreath! I love it! If only I knew back then that crayons could be purchased in bulk, I would have stocked up on hot pink and yellow. My two favorite colors as a child. I have to show my husband this crayon wreath. He loves art projects.
This is really a great idea, this creativity is pretty amazing, wellI think that no one ever thought of using crayons like this, really awesome.
