This Week's Ideabook On Houzz: The New Old Bathroom

With the high cost of renovating a bath or building one from scratch in a new home, it is best to avoid design choices that will appear dated within a few years. One approach is to select fixtures, tile, hardware and finishes that have become proven classics over the years and incorporate them in a bathroom design with a modern attitude and updated function. Trend elements can still find their way into the design through paint and accessories or slight twists on the classic selections.

Traditional wainscoting, basketweave mosaic floor tile, nickel fixtures and neutral colors can be dramatic and modern when a stylish venetian mirror is thrown into the mix.

Very nice bathroom indeed! It reminds me of Stephanie's bathroom from Brooklyn Limestone.

I'll try to check out your Houzz idea book this weekend. Girl it was a crazy night last night! I hope you guys had a great one!

Is there anyway to find out that gray paint color? It looks exactly the color I've been searching for! Thank you!

I stopped over to Houzz to view the photo and see if there was any information posted about the paint color, this is what I found:

Metro Gray 1459 by Benjamin Moore is a similar color.

I hope that at least gets you headed in the right direction. It is an amazing color seen in the photograph!

Thank you very much! I actually emailed the designer and they were so kind to get back to me. It is Blackened by Farrow & Ball. Since they seem to be a European company, I'm going to check out the BM color on my wheel. Thank you again.
