Features Of My New Blog Design

Way back in May I hired Shannon of Eight Crazy Design to work with me on the redesign of my blog. Then I encountered a trademark issue with my business name and had to put the project on hold as I protected my rights to the name. All I can really say about this is don't be afraid of defending what you have worked hard to build and create, regardless of the opponent.

Fast forward, once that issue was addressed, I finally got to work with Shannon last month. The goals of the project were not only to have the blog reflect my design personally more clearly, but the part of the project I was most excited about was adding increased functionality, integrating the content of my website into the blog.

I really like the "rebranding" approach to the site. The masthead has a structured feel to anchor the entire site. I like the navigation bar on the side and the {explanations} for the content areas you have provided. Works for me!

Your blog is my fav and I love the new look!

Help - I am looking for a source for the large branches (birch, I think) in the bedroom on your current home page.

Thank you!

Love the new look and options! So happy you were able to keep the name! It wouldn't be the same without them!

Hi Amy,

The branches seen in that bedroom design are from www.nettletonhollow.com,
the large birch branches. This is a great company, I used them often!

I was wondering about the trademark issue, too. I'm glad you were able to get it worked out - too bad you even had to deal with it! I love the new blog design. A successful collaboration.

Loved your comment on the parsonage chair! I've had a little experience with less-than-desireable parsonage furniture myself - I guess that's what makes us grateful. :-)

Sarah @ Modern Country Style said...

I really like the way you've incorporated the clena lines of the Minima template (whcih I LOVE) into your new design.

Plus the trellis pattern at the top is SO you!!

Well done on fighting your corner. That must have been pretty stressful for you.

I admire you for what you did. It's a tough thing when you have a duplicate on the web specially that it's business yet you managed it off. Great job!.

And you have an awesome blog which just deserves it. I'm in love with your slick Email me button. It's just glamorous. Congratulations on putting this blog Isabella, it's excellent.
