First of all, a huge thanks for all the comments on yesterday's post!

And then, I just had to start today's post with a favorite photo of mine, taken at a wonderful little park in San Francisco. Pictured is a great group of ladies, all of us new mothers. I was so happy to have found these women, it was the first time I had stepped away from work since leaving collage and would have been completely lost without their support! This is when I met Tineke, who was taking time off from her career in high-tech sales. During this break from her job she helped a friend renovate a home, as well as began work on her own home. After returning to her "day" job she continued to oversee several renovations and eventually decided it was time to see if she could parlay these projects into a career in interior design.

As a result Artistic Designs For Living was formed, a full service design company that oversees a wide range of projects. Tineke has also begun a new venture under the name Tineke Designs, creating a line of green and customizable furniture that embraces the fresh lines, colors and fabrics she has become known for.

It is inspiring to see how Tineke has taken advantage of her experience in business and sales, along with a background in art, to build a strong business. It demonstrates how being passionate about your field, along with the willingness to work hard, can bring success!

Here are some examples of the work her firm does. I just love the use of color and fabrics! To view more see this post, as well as an Ideabook written for Houzz featuring Tineke's designs this past week.

It was great to catch up with Tineke last week and it has been fun to watch her career grow. I'm looking forward to seeing what projects she takes on next!
And about those DIY gift projects I had intended to post about today...with the kids home from school these last two days I'm behind schedule! But the items are looking good and I'll share the ideas with you the first of next week.

She has such an appreciation for color and pattern. I enjoyed your houzz feature with her as well! Thanks for the introduction!

That first picture really is great, Janell, and I can just imagine the memories it must bring back. Are you and Isabella one of the mother-child couples in the photo? If so, I think I know which one, but please tell us!
She's does beautiful work! Thanks for sharing these pics with us, Janell!
Ha, Isabella & I are the first pair on the left. I get a kick out of seeing Isabella reaching out to her little friend, I think I recall her bugging the other little girl! And look at my full checks, some nice baby fat! Janell

Good for HER!!!BRAVO and Kudos!!! Love her work, what a very talented friend you have. Between the two of you there was a lot of talent in your little support group, I am glad you posted your post yesterday. I hope whoever "They" are that has not responded to you read it and all of the comments. We love you Janell, keep doing what you do oh so well!! Kathysue
Her work is stunning...crisp and fresh rooms!!
Thanks for pointing out which ones you two are. You both have different colored hair. Like my daughter says..Mom what is it with the redish hair in all your pictures from the 90's. lol If I dye it myself blonder I end up with red hair. It's funny cause I too go darker too and I just turned 49.
I loved the time with my mom friends and watching our kids grow up. Our friendships changed when the kids went to elementary school, but some I'm still close to.
T's designs are gorgeous too. I want the round table with the rounded chairs, I've seen that picture somewhere else.
What a great story...love it!
What beautiful spaces, thanks so much for sharing!
I would die for those orange headboards in my house!!
I am sooo glad I stumbled upon your blog, it is fabulous! I was wondering if you have any idea where the pendants in the bottom picture are from. I have been searching for them!!
