From eclectic to classic, deciding what art is best suited to hang in a bedroom is a very personal choice. When done well it can be an inspiring addition to the room where we close down the day.

Art hung above a desk always seems to look just right. Here the gold toned frames echo other finishes in the room, with one image repeating the bright blue hue of the drapes. This is an excellent example of an art wall that fits in beautifully with the room design.

Whether or not this art wall is actually in a bedroom is unclear, but the quiet conveyed through the image would suit a bedroom very well. The muted color palette of the room and art enhance the soft mood, further reinforced by the choice to use white frames which fade into the wall.

Amazing Drama. Every inch of the dark navy blue walls surrounding a canopy bed are covered in art. The pleated navy and white drapery panels, which frame the bed, mirror the wall color and whites present in the artwork. A virtual cocoon of coziness is created. The effect is continued with the ivory drapes at the window and a navy settee set at the foot of the bed. Orange accents seen on the coverlet, pillow and lantern add just the right pop of bright color. Can you tell I love how wonderfully thought out this design is?!

I am noticing that many of the art walls that I find appealing are actually made up of a collection of framed art in addition to other items, such as letters and small sculptural pieces. Here is a perfect example with a playful spirit, enhanced by the bright colors seen in the art, the bird hovering to the left of the bed and the happy yellow bedframe.

Well you know I started one in my master, but wasn't happy with the art itself. Therefore I know how important choosing art for a space is! I'm compiling pictures that I want to frame so I'll have them together when I'm ready to start back on my room! I do know that I love the idea of brass frames!
I'm doing an art gallery in my kitchen soon. I'm going through my current pieces to see what I'll use. The last picture you showed is a great inspiration for me. I planned on using pieces other then just framed pictures.
I also just recived a stencil that I ordered for our bedroom. The company included a couple of smaller, free stencils as a gift. And one was a flying bird. Originally I wasn't planning on doing anything with it but after seeing how cute your last picture is, I may have to incorporate it.
Thanks for inspiring me. AGAIN!!!
I'd like to put up an art wall in my master bedroom too underneath a shelf mounted fairly high on the wall for our tv - maybe with some personal pics of travels and travel "souvenirs" in shadow boxes mixed in. I love the idea of adding in letters and other items too. :)
I've been at a stand still in my master bedroom and could use some inspiration. Headed over the read the article now. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
I'll be sure to stop by Houzz. I find deciding on wall art to be one of the most difficult choices when redecorating. I'll take all the inspiration I can get.
Seriously, I just put decorating the master bedroom at the end of my list. I have a lot of wall space. I need to give the room some attention for sure. Thanks for the inspiration:)

Your decorating skills are wonderful and rooms in your house are beautiful. I wish I was more creative and gifted in interior design. Thank you for sharing and for showing ways to do things like the tweed looking wall. Very interesting and seemingly simple. :)
Kindest regards,

I am such a huge fan of hanging artwork that you, the homeowner, loves. I just finished hanging on in my office and it is mixed with art and photographs. It makes me very happy. In our kitchen I have a photo ledge that wraps around the wall with artwork and photos. These are spaces that make the house a home! Can't wait to see what you do.
This is such an inspiring post and right on time for me as I am giving thought to an art wall above my desk. Love that first image. Hmm...

i totally agree with you about finding a mixture of frames very intriguing, with other little objects thrown i. it almost seems like a page from a journal when done right. i like imaging why each image and object was included in the collage.
the images you selected are fabulous, by the way!
Love these inspirational images - especially the first two!

I love the framed grouping with the wallpaper. I did that with some samples (don't tell my sales rep!!) and put them over my sofa. I love the graphic element they bring to the space. Great pics!
The first image is really great with the blue drapes. I also like the walls that incorporate objects and letters. It will be fun to see what you do.
This is fun...I totally posted about this over on the Flor blog (http://www.flor.com/blog) a couple of weeks ago...would have been fun to include your inspiration photos too!
