Framing A Bathroom Mirror - Final Pictures
Before
Paint, new light fixture shades, towel rings, a chalkboard, accessories and a mirror frame make a big difference.
Yes, I've resorted to a few angled shots. Here it was the only way I could get the entire top of the frame in a photo. I received a lot of suggestions after mentioning what a hard time I was having photographing this small space, particularly regarding lenses. So, when I get a moment, I'll be looking into what lens will help with this issue. Thanks!
This is probably my fastest redo to date...the vanity area of the bathroom is complete with the exception of the stenciling I plan to do. More on that next week, as I have made a decision on which stencil to use. I'm excited to be having Whitewall & Co make a stencil based on one of my designs. The pattern won't be painted on every wall, but just enough to soften the space and add another layer of interest.

Good morning!! I am always intrigued about what people find interesting in a project, it is always varied and sometime the things you think no one will respond to is a hit...like turning the lights! It is super easy to do also, in most cases it doesn't require doing anything with the wiring.

All the accessories were purchased at Target...towels, shower curtain, waste basket, towel rings, etc.
I love my Canon Rebel! I have the XSi. The lenses make the camera and those kit lenses (the ones that are often sold with the camera are junk!). If you look on the front of your lens, you'll see lots of letters and numbers. The larger the number before the "MM," the smaller the angle. So, for your field of work, I'd recommend a wide angle lens like this one by Canon:

I've been planning this project (framing the mirror) for awhile now. Finally found some trim at a garage sale for mere pennies. Buying new light fixtures and painting this weekend. Tiling the floor and replacing the vanity the following month. Can not wait! :)!

Great bathroom! I really like what you've done with it, from the mirror, tile and hardware down to the colorful towels. Just gorgeous!
The frame completely changes the bathroom. It is amazing how much lighter it looks and the room, in general, looks much more kid friendly, but not too. I mean that in a good way in case it came out wrong :)

the frame above the mirror is on the mirror or on the wall? because the glue is on the wall.

Very good question, similar to an email I got asking if they should use Liquid Nails for mirrors for the part of the frame attached directly to the mirror.
I didn't want to make the mirror too "short" by placing the top trim piece too low on the mirror and so placed the top trim piece high enough up so that just a bit of the edge covered the mirror while most of it was against the wall.
Obviously the two side pieces are attached to the mirror.
The bottom is attached to the tile with just a bit of frame covering the edge of the mirror, again so as to not make the mirror become too small.
I hope this answers your question. Each mirror will most definitely present its own set of issues based on its size, how it is attached to the wall and what the mirror runs up to at its sides, top and bottom.
