Nothing brings drama to a room like gorgeous drapery panels framing the windows. There seems to have been a trend favoring simple window treatments over the last several years, with blinds and shades becoming the norm. These are certainly functional choices and can be the best option for certain designs. But often this omission is a lost opportunity to bring personality into a room through the endless array of fabrics from which to have panels made.

Color, texture, pattern and warmth...I see a few windows in my house that need drapes!

Read the entire Houzz Ideabook here, and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

I'm heading over there now!
I love all these drapes, AND the high ceilings in all these rooms. I think if you have high ceilings, it just increases the chic factor by about 100%!
Hi ! Das zweite Foto - mein Favorit !!! So sieht mein Traumwohnzimmer aus ! BR from Austria, margaretha
It's a nice change from all that fussy flu-flu stuff from the 80's and 90's. Cleaning is easier with the no fuss window treatments.
Found you via Houzz. Great job. I will share these examples to help my clients understand the potential for panels!! I love your spirit.
I'm with you. I think many people have opted out on drapery treatments, and there's just nothing that brings warmth and style to a room more than something beautiful around window. I hope we come full circle back to great fabrics gracing a window...let's leave all that cascade stuff back in the 80's though.

The green drapes are so eye catching. I love drapes, but I find most people opting for blinds. My brother in law was recently commenting on the difficulty finding the right length and putting them up at the proper height.
Totally agree! Draperies can completely change the room.
Love white rooms with colorful curtains, so pure, yet somehow it always seems MORE colorful than if the entire room was painted in a bright hue.
I have always loved that photo with the green drapes, it is beautiful!
I agree that the absence of drapery results in a loss of personality! The gorgeous photos you posted totally prove the point :)
I love the drapes you pictured. They make such a great impact in the rooms. I think I usually shy away from drapes because I have a hard time committing. I am definitely going to have to branch out here- I can always change them if they don't work out, right?!
