Projects To Create A Girl's Dream Bedroom

I completely enjoyed writing the 'Ten Creative Yet Simple Projects for Kids' Rooms' article for HGTV.com recently. Below are several projects included in that piece, along with a few others that went into the design of Isabella's bedroom: Girl's Dream Bedroom - No Boys Allowed.

Many of these projects could easily be adapted to work well in a guest or master bedroom. I hope they inspire a few projects of your own! Click on any of the titles to be taken to the original post.

I find bedrooms particularly satisfying rooms to work on. Creating a master bedroom or guest room retreat feels wonderfully luxurious and the best part about designing a child's room is the license to be extremely creative and just have fun!

Another great job Janell! where did you find the nightstands? I've been looking for something similar for my own bedroom.

The nightstands were found at HomeGoods...of course!! The knobs on one were replaced with fabulous knobs from Anthropologie, from their great selection. Good luck finding yours...Janell

What a beautiful finished project, Janelle. I love that it's girly without being cutesy! Make sense? The details really make it look custom, and the overall presentation of the room looks very professional...I guess that's because you did it ! Great job!

I love this bedroom, Janell, and I love seeing it! I think this would also make a great master or guest room. You added some great features to it, and it is very appealing and relaxing.

I'd love this room for myself! But then "no boys allowed" wouldn't really work since my hub would be on his own! : )

The room looks great, you've really maximized the space by fitting in a desk at the end of the bed. Just curious, what are the approx dimensions of the room?

HH in Paris, have you found your apartment yet? I need to go get caught up on your posts and see!

The room measures 15'long by 10'wide. The furniture layout here allows the desired pieces to be placed in the room while keeping the design symmetrical, which I'm somewhat (very) fond of! Thanks for asking!

Just found you through Houzz. I was scanning your blog posts and saw the chair you recovered;0) with Tuscany fabric from CC?? I just purchased yardage for my kitchen! We have gutted our kitchen/breakfast area and I needed some inspiration for color schemes. This fun flow-y fabric fit the bill for me;) Funny thing, I brought it home and realized that many items in my home have the exact same colors. At least I know what I like. And I LOVE your designs! blessings,

I love how you placed the desk at the end of the bed, what a creative thing to do. It not only saves space but also adds character to the room.
