So Good To Be Home

Isn't it true? When you live in a home you love returning from a trip is as good as leaving for the trip in the first place.

As we drove up to the house Sunday night Isabella said, "Next year, let's just stay home." Interesting comment given the wonderful experiences she enjoyed on the trip, including swimming with a dolphin on her birthday! Perhaps she was just very tired or had simply missed Roscoe, but she knew that home is the place to be.

What spot am I happiest returning to in my house? The bath! Even if there is a decent tub in the accommodations during a trip, a nice soak just doesn't seem that appealing. The tub is usually too shallow or the tile just doesn't seem clean enough...am I alone on this one?

So for me, the best luxury is returning home to enjoy all the comforts of a well loved home.

  2. Oh Janell Sweetie...
I am with you on this one. Hotel accommodations, try as they may, just generally are not adequate. I always wear flip flops, my bare feet never touch the carpet or tile. Ofcourse there is no place like home.

I adore the picture of sweet Isabella swimming with the dolphins and getting a precious kiss. How sweet is that. I love it.

Have a beautiful day sweetie. Country hugs...Sherry

  3. Its funny you said that coz everytime we travel. as long as the plane take off, me and my husband giggles, that we cant wait to go home and lay down on our own bed. :>
Belated Happy Birthday to Isabella! that is an awesome way to celebrate a birthday.

I totally agree about the bathroom accomodation. the only thing i enjoy about it is, I can take a bath 2-3 times a day w/out to worry of cleaning the bath(room service).

Looks like Isabella had enough of the fun time. I heard the same thing w/ my girls when we went to Texas last summer.

  5. My daughter also swam with the dolphins recently in Bermuda. She had the biggest smile on her face the whole time! I know what you mean about wanting to be home. I too feel that way. There is only so much "hotel" one can take after awhile. Glad you are home and had a nice trip!

  6. I never take a bath in a hotel: you just never know... and especially the ones with water jets. I'm not a clean "freak", but no, I'll wait til I get home!
What I DO like is not having to make any beds!

  11. Sounds like it was a great trip, but it is always nice to get home, isn't it? And, I am like you about baths most places....

  12. Personally, if a hotel has a nice bathtub, I'm straight in there. I love knowing that I'm not the one who'll be getting down on my hands and knees to deal with the mess I make :)
    Welcome home!

  13. Yes, I agree. Although for awhile I wish I could move my home to where ever I just returned from- it only lasts a little bit though :)

  18. LOVING the picture of Isabella! Seriously loving it!

My home is not to the point where it rises up to meet me, yet (I got that from Oprah)! But, when it is, I'm sure I'll feel the same. Your home is beautiful! And can just imagine how it feels to come home to it!
