Prior to painting a chalkboard wall to hang the art on, other solutions were considered for this feature wall. One was to hang wallpaper, another was to cover it with fabric. In the end I decided to go with chalkboard paint, mainly because this part of the Home Office Redesign needed to be inexpensive. There were also several pieces of art that could have been hung, some with much more color. But as all the images were laid out to edit through the options, it became clear that a limited color palette was needed to flow with the other elements in the room.
I'm very happy with the final look! Next...on to shelving, refinishing the cabinet and several other small details.
p.s. subway, typewriter and buddha photographs compliments of Mrs. Limestone. Thank you.

Of all the options you considered, I'm glad you went with the chalkboard wall. It turned out beautifully. And so practical! I'll tell you what, this definitely doesn't LOOK inexpensive! Nice work! Marija
This looks tremendous! I really like the photos and I do recognize the quote. That is one nice wall, it really works well with the desk piece, I really like how the colors blend so well.

Nothing like an appreciative husband. I love to see the reciprocation of love and affection! I'm just sappy like that!
It looks fantastic! I'm glad to hear that he's happy with the room too.
What you decided on might be the most economical but I think it is also the most creative. It really turned out nicely. You should be very proud of yourself and of course of hubby for being such a sweetheart,Kathysue

Janell, it's just gorgeous. So excited that you shared the finished wall! Well done, and such an original space too.
So GOOD! I was wondering what you were going to do with those empty frames. Dumb dodo that I am, it's a chalkboard wall! Love it!
It looks GREAT! I love how it turned out, and that you left some empty frames to write in.
Only one of my favorite characters ever !!! Swoon, Cary Grant, be still my heart. How sweet is your hub ?

What a fantastic wall. I am obsessed with chalkboards right now. I've been trying to convince the hubs to let me do a chalkboard wall in our kitchen. Can't wait for the final reveal.
I don't think I've commented on your chalk wall yet...shame on me. Can I just tell you how much I love your version of the chalkboard wall? I love that you did it in such a way that made it a little classy and cutting edge insteady of just cute and trendy. As a matter of fact, that's one of the things I love about your blog - you have a knack for taking things to another level. Bravo!
came out very nice!!! congratulations!
