Okay, I can feel your shock coming right through
the computer.
Yes, this is a room in our house...
my husband's office to be exact.
I bet you thought I was much too particular to let such a scene
exist anywhere near me!
And yes. He has tolerated my piling all the
"I don't know where this should go or should I get rid of it"
items of home decor...in...his...office.
He hasn't even mentioned how the pile seems to be growing.
But he will, if I don't put a stop to it soon.
There will be no remaining space for him to grab a seat and work.
So go ahead and venture a guess what project is next on my list!

Too funny! I love it! Sadly, my husband's office has enough "stuff" in it all on its own...
Haha...yes, he must be a very good man. I need to find one like that. I have to say, though, even your stacks and piles look lovely. I just don't think you can help it :).
Hmm..I have two! Getting ideas from Lithonia regarding organizing. Setting up some kind of storage area and have shelving so you can organize your "extra" finishing touches. Something like a stager company would have. My next..Ebay!..oh one more. Designing a great space for the Man, lantern holder that supports your design dreams.
Have a great weekend!
Maureen
i will happily take a number of these items off your hands janell! :)
by the way, i thought you did a post on your fireplace redo, but i can't find it? i have a doozy i'm getting ready to tackle in the new place. (wait until you see the pictures. it's like someone vomited mirrored tile.)

Hi Kelly,
Oh, please post pictures!! The worse the before the more potential for the after!!
Here is the link I think you might be referring to:

And yes, I need to have a swap meet!
Janell
oh well I will take a few (or all) of those things off your hands!!! my husband can't park in the garage because of all my "projects"!!!
Oh, that chair is just begging to be sat on ! Don't worry, we all have a junk spot in our houses.
Ha! I laughed! I am always taking over the garage spray painting or just painting something. As for piles, that happens in the laundry room or I have a section in the crawl space!
Hi Janell, What color are the walls in the room?
Thanks
Looks like a new contemporary office or room for someone or is this for your house?
Having a home based faux floral business, I wrote the second verse to your messy office song. :) I have arrangements and price tags in many spaces.

I have a pile just like that in our bedroom. Maybe I'll make my motivation for getting rid of it tie in to your getting your pile taken care of! Thanks for "keeping it real." - L in Michigan
Hmmm...Dave's office is in a similar state of chaos, but mostly because he's a mess and that's the one place I let him indulge in his natural pack-rat tendencies.
Gotta love an indulgent hubby, right?! :)
First off - your pile of stuff is so much nicer than my pile of junk. You have some fab stuff in there!
Second - my husband has a "man" space that is a complete disgrace. I'd love to fussy it up but its never going to happen. Thus, you never see it on my blog :)
I am sure that whatever you create will be wonderful! I can't wait to see the finished product...
Best wishes, Natasha.
Oh YES! It's not just me! I'm not alone! I'm SO relieved! The poor man cave has been overtaken in my home as well.
Looks like my boyfriends office, except all the stuff piled up is his and it drives me nuts!
Good luck with the painting this weekend, I cant wait to see how everything came out!
you're honest and he's patient. i LIKE that!
He's got great taste with that white leather chair and ottoman! Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for the blog support!
Vanessa
What does the rest of the room look like? That does look hard to deal with 'cause that chair and stool look awfully comfortable...
;-) Thanks for sharing...
This is too funny. can't wait to see what you do with all the items!
There's a theme developing in the comments here - most of our guys create a terrible mess in any space that's their own, and we flutter around completely ineffectually in our attempts to redeem them!
Example: my husband loves to keep pens on our dining table so he can make notes/do quizzes etc while he eats & reads. At one point I tried to banish such clutter and he didn't complain out loud. But I later found he'd attached a pen underneath the table, so that it was handy when he needed it but didn't offend my eye. What could I do? I laughed and applauded his creativity.
