My Work Space Will Be Complete By Halloween...Or Thanksgiving?

I am happily awaiting the arrival of the Riveria Iron Lantern, which has just been ordered from Shades of Light. So progress is being made on the room I hope to be working in, sometime in the near future.

This lantern was one of the options I showed in the Make My Heart Flutter Lighting Options post. In reality it was the only fixture within my budget, but a girl can dream can't she? Budget aside however, I think it is still the best choice for the room and the overall design direction of the house.

A big thanks to Rebecca, at Harmony and Home, for mentioning Shades of Light when I asked if anyone had a favorite lighting resource in a previous post. What a great lead! I have already used table lamps found here in two other projects, including the design featured yesterday. What is even better? I have been given a trade discount.

So I was set. I had made my decision and was getting ready to order the Lantern when Lauren's comment (from Pure Style Home) came in saying she had the same fixture and be advised, it cast a very orange light. Getting this comment nearly ruined my day. Luckily she was very helpful, sending a photo of her lantern which hangs outside her front door. From this we realized there must be two versions of this fixture, an outdoor style with a glass shade (causing the orange light) and an indoor style with an ivory fabric shade. I sincerely hope this makes all the difference.

In selecting which light to hang in the room another key consideration, besides budget, was how the lines of the fixture would work with the 'wallpaper' design. Pictured below, this is really the star feature of the room. I believe these two elements will look wonderful together. I'll have pictures soon, which will tell the story...

Next: the table, the table, where is my table?! My wish list: 54" round pedestal, walnut stain, affordable, great quality. Simple to find, right?

That lantern suits your pattern perfectly -- it's all coming together! (And thanks for the lighting resource tip; I'm always lusting over fixtures at Circa Lighting but they're all so expensive!)

The lantern is beautiful!
Have you done an internet search for the table? Or do you prefer to buy from a store (so you can actually see it first)? Just wondering....

Hi Janell,

Thanks SO much for the mention!

A couple ideas for your 54" round table.... Pottery Barn currently has a sale on their Montego Pedestal Table http://www.potterybarn.com/products/montego-pedestal-dining-table/?pkey=cround-tables for $1399.

Penney's has a 48" table that extends to 66" for $449.00...http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=57087&CatID=71240&GrpTyp=PRD&ItemID=1423c9e&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=57087%7c57092&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=1&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=57087|57092|71240.

Z Gallerie has a Maxwell Dining Table for $799.00 that is 54" and extends to 72". http://www.zgallerie.com/pc-7205-71-maxwell-dining-table.aspx

But I like Z's Harper Dining Table ($499) better as it's more contemporary http://www.zgallerie.com/pc-1299-71-harper-dining-table.aspx

Hope this helps!!!
