My To Do List

Has anyone noticed the lack of posts detailing progress on the Living Room Redesign lately?

Well, I'm a bit busy and giving myself time to make decisions. (Read: I can't make up my mind.)

But while I ponder away, here's my to do list. If you don't see any progress in the upcoming days send me a reminder to get moving...please!

1. Table - It comes down to custom or the Sonoma from Z Gallerie.

2. Pillows - Need a few moments to sew these up (between finishing the Halloween costumes!)

3. Paint - The walls in the surrounding areas will be painted Sherwin-Williams Universal Khaki. The ceilings are high, do I pull out the extension roller or call in the painters?

4. Light fixtures - Ah, the slippery slope of design. Now that the living room has such a stunning fixture the entry and dining room fixtures stick out like a pair of sore thumbs. Time to start sourcing some options.

5. Console - Yes, I am still seriously considering refinishing this piece. Nothing is wrong with it except its color clashes with the (soon to be) new wall color. Time to come up with a plan.

See this bit of the new wall color tested behind the console? The taupe paint with gray undertones against the warm yellows of the console don't mix to make music to my ear eye.

So, expect some progress or all reminders are welcome...

  1. I was wondering!!! :-) Just kidding. You make up your mind more quickly than I do, I'm sure, so I'll never be critical of you. It will be fun to see the results of your choices. Have a great day!

  2. That is quite the list - great attention to detail. Personally I think the console color still works... Best of luck - I can see that you will be busy!

  3. Good luck with all of it. I can't wait to see the final result!
I love the color of the console - I am not yet brave enough for furniture that isn't white, black, or a wood tone, but it looks so "designer" in my opinion. I have finally broken myself into the world of pattern, maybe a yellow piece of furniture is next!!

  6. What a list you have to get through. I have a feeling though it will all be done sooner than we think and there will be some pretty new eye candy to look at here :)

  8. Ah the domino effect of decorating continues...take your time though! All your choices so far have been fabulous and there's no need to rush (though I DO love your updates and progress reports). :)

  9. I like either choice with the table, and I love your choice for paint color. I'm trying to repaint my dining room and hadn't yet found exactly what I'm looking for, but I think it's on that swatch! I'm going to SW today.
As for the console . . . it may be a stretch, but I was thinking red would look great, especially with the muted/neutral colors of your home. It would really pop with the Universal Khaki, too. I'm sure whatever you come up with will be beautiful, just like the rest of your home!

  11. Oh, color! I was thinking more in the lines of ivory, also have thought of turquoise...that would be gorgeous! Red would be awesome, but for this space an Orange would work better. Hum...
Thanks for nudging me to think outside the box.

  14. Wow! Can't wait to see it all done. I'll give my two cents on the painting though. Although it's tempting to save money and do it yourself...it is NOT fun to do the cutting around the ceiling on high walls. Yuck. So my input...call the painters. ;-)

  15. Design blogs are swiftly becoming a favorite place for me to visit frequently because ?I just throw things together no design plan at all. One day I'll learn to "design" my living space.

I personally like Khaki colors for large spaces. Love the photo with the credenza/console and the painting. Can you design my condo for me??

    Oh and lovely earrings too.
