Ladies Night Out In The Neighborhood
Reading my post yesterday several people inquired
"why did you move?"
After all, the old & new homes are just three miles apart!
Community...a lack of it in one neighborhood
and the abundance of it in another.
What a joy, really, to live in a place where when hosting a neighborhood Ladies Night Out 30 women show up at the door carrying armfuls of beautiful food and drink.
Ready for the party to begin.

Upon arriving one friend laughed,
seeing the large array of drinks and food...
"Janell, I don't think
I've ever seen this much food in your home at one time!"
No photos of the food...too busy talking (and eating & drinking.)

Thanks for stopping by my blog. To answer your question, the artwork in the sunroom is actually vinyl art from Upppercase Living. I have a few of them in my home, but this one is by far my favorite! UL shows it as horizontal, but I knew I had to have it in this room, so I just turned it on its end.

That looks like it was so much fun. What a great way to spend the evening.
I just thought about it and realized how much I miss the mom's nights our little kids' play group of 25 mothers would have every month. Well, the baby that attended that play group is 20 now...oh my. It's been at least 18 years since my last girls' night out! Except for nights out with my two daughters, which are fun, but not really the same...thanks for the reminder that I need to get a life!

What a wonderful time that must have been. There is nothing like a sense of community. My neighbors across the street recently moved ~ they were surrogate grandparents for Lauren. We miss them terribly!

Looks like a fun night out! I completely understand why you would move three blocks away...we moved less than a mile and traded a neighborhood with seriously crazy people...inappropriate for raising children, to a fantastic dead end street. We have been enjoying block parties and Christmas get togethers for years....it was totally worth the move.
