A Simple Shopping Trip

Needing to give my search for the pedestal table a rest I moved on to an easier task. On this shopping list, baskets.

The living room, soon to be work space, needed some additional storage. Where to put all the fabric samples and a few catalogs? Two large baskets tucked under the coffee table provides a spot to toss them when not in use.

My first stop was Target, nothing really made me feel the love. Then I swung by Pier 1 and found these chocolate brown wicker baskets lined with canvas, and the best part...the cute bow. (Later while online to grab the link to these baskets I saw they are Laundry Baskets...ha! Who knew. Oh well, I think they look chic enough for my purpose!)

I was infatuated, grabbed two and was relieved to have this shopping trip over in just a few minutes.

Up next: While I continue to deliberate my table situation, I've called the electrician to add a junction box so a chandelier can be hung in the center of the room. Yet another item I need to start looking for. Do you have a favorite online resource for great light fixtures? Please share away...

Amen to quick shopping trips. sometimes I wish I was magic and could make everything in a store disappear (including the people!) except for exactly what I wanted and needed and could afford, and save myself a bunch of time and hassle. Wow, that makes me sound really cranky! But it's true! :)

Hi! Just found your blog through the All The Best contest. Love your designs and your blog! I had a contest recently giving away a Shades of Light fixture. Check out their website, they have some really cute stuff.

Hi, Janell! My favorite sources for lighting are: LampsPlus.com, CSNLighting.com (love them), and overstock.com.

Good luck!

p.s. oops! hit the enter key too quickly. Glad you had better luck with baskets than you did w/ a table! :-) Have a great day!

Baskets are great! Lampsplus and CSNLighting... or Shades of LIght. Admittedly haven't ordered from them yet- am debating which dining room chandelier I want to get!

Lighting -- depends on the budget. If you can spend more, Circa Lighting is the BEST. (Great customer service, too). If you're on a budget, I really love ZGallerie (got a great Murano knockoff from them a few months ago actually).

I recommend browsing eBay for a deal on a chandelier. I just bought a new $495 Restoration Hardware chandy for about $58 including shipping.

Love your site,
Rebekah
